Pulmonary Fibrosis in Rheumatic Diseases
Pulmonary fibrosis is a serious complication associated with some rheumatic diseases, such as scleroderma, rheumatoid arthritis, or mixed connective tissue disease. It involves the progressive scarring of lung tissue, leading to reduced lung elasticity and breathing difficulties.
Common symptoms:
- Persistent dry cough;
- Dyspnea (shortness of breath), especially during physical activity;
- Chronic fatigue;
- Abnormal sounds during auscultation (velcro-like sounds).
Early diagnosis and a multidisciplinary approach are essential to prevent the worsening of pulmonary fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for affected patients. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive and personalized care for each patient.
