Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic autoimmune disease that causes joint inflammation, leading to pain, swelling, and, over time, joint damage.
Symptoms:
- Pain and morning stiffness, especially in small joints (hands, feet);
- Swelling and tenderness in the joints;
- Fatigue, mild fever, weight loss.
Treatment:
- Medications: anti-inflammatory drugs, DMARDs (disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs), biological therapies;
- Physiotherapy: to maintain mobility and reduce pain;
- Lifestyle changes: moderate exercise and an anti-inflammatory diet.
Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment can prevent complications and maintain the patient’s quality of life.
